Analysis of cu and NI concentrations in some commonly consumed spices sold in Kaduna metropolis, Kaduna state, Nigeria

This research was conducted with a view to determine the risks associated Cu, and Ni through consumption of spices viz; curry leaves, ginger, turmeric, garlic cloves) sold within Kaduna Metropolis. The samples were analyzed for Cu using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS). mean concentrations metals in are leaves: - (0.123 mg/kg); (0.029 mg/kg). Ginger:- (0.063 (0.046 Garlic: (0.064 (0.034 Cloves: (0.056 (0.024 Turmeric: (0.052 (0.022 concentration all safety limits set by FAO/WHO while Target Hazard Quotient (THQ) evaluated less than one (1). Hence, selected Metropolis safe human consumption.
